VICTORIA’S supreme WAGs set a high standard for style at the Brownlows on Monday night, offering up a glamorous assortment of gowns.

Despite an injury-plagued season and a disappointing finals exit, Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin had mo’ worries as he walked the Brownlow red carpet in Melbourne.

The Sydney Swans superstar, who was not in the running for the Brownlow Medal, wore a traditional black tuxedo while model wife Jesinta opted for a floor-length white satin dress.

It was a last minute creation from designer Dion Lee who she said “whipped it up this week”.

“It’s about Buddy and celebrating his year so I am keeping it nice and simple,” Jesinta said of her look.

Asked about her partner’s new mo’, she told The Daily Telegraph: “I think he looks so handsome”. “He looks good in whatever he wears,” she said.

Plunging necklines, low backs and head-to-toe embellishments — the standard fashion makings of a footy awards night — came thick and fast along the red carpet, but there were some stunning surprises also.

Jordan Ablett, Alex Pendlebury, Ruby Keddie and Brit Davis were also ladies to watch.

Charlotte Ennels turned heads in a gunmetal beaded gown by Oglia Loro Couture, while veteran attendee Nadia Bartel swathed her baby bump in a striking, white J’Aton gown which may have been the best of the night.

Britt Davis also vied for best dressed, shining in a beautiful, ornate Paolo Sebastian gown.

The sartorial caliber of the night will no doubt have the Dally M wives and girlfriends taking their re-event prep to the extreme ahead of Wednesday’s awards in Sydney, in order to show their Melbourne counterparts they know their way around a red carpet as well as the footy field sidelines.
