Michelle Bridges apologises after she pleads guilty to drink driving

Michelle Bridges has thanked her supporters in a sombre social media post following a series of personal struggles.

The former Biggest Loser star, 49, described the past month as “the toughest time of my life” but vowed to “keep moving forward” after her split from Steve “Commando” Willis’ and her drink-driving conviction.

“The last month has been the toughest time of my life,” she began.

“What I’d like to say is thank you — to my loved ones, my friends, my team, and to all who have reached out to me.

“I have received so many messages of kindness from both strangers and people I know. The biggest thank you to you all. I know the remorse and guilt won’t go away, but I’m determined to keep moving forward, working hard and being thankful for all the good in my life. Mish x.”

Last week Bridges, who shares her four-year-old son Axel with Willis, was given a three-month driving ban and a $750 fine with a conviction recorded after pleading guilty to mid-range drink driving while her son was in the car.

The celebrity fitness trainer blew 0.089 during a routine breath test in Bellevue Hill on Australia Day.

She will now have to use an interlock device on her car once her three-month disqualification is over.

“I would like to apologise to my family, my friends and my community for this gross error in judgment,” she said in a statement outside court.

“The consequences of these actions will haunt me forever. I ask for your forgiveness and I thank you for your support.”

The legal drama came after Bridges and her partner Willis split after seven years together.

“... It has been a very difficult time for me the last few weeks dealing with the break-up of my long-term relationship,” Bridges previously said.

“This is by no means an excuse for my behaviour but I feel the emotional turmoil I have been going through has impacted my decision making. I am extremely sorry for my actions.”
