Former reality singing star Isaiah Firebrace is now engaged to his girlfriend - a year after the pair was embroiled in a scuffle at a Sydney venue.

Former reality singing star Isaiah Firebrace is now engaged to his girlfriend - a year after the pair was embroiled in a scuffle at a Sydney venue.

X-Factor winner and Eurovision contestant Firebrace popped the question to his partner Stephanie Mendez on September 21, just over a year since they were both charged with assault.

Firebrace, 24, had initially pleaded not guilty to assault pertaining to an allegation he had punched Mendez in the stomach, and was set to fight the charge at a hearing in June, while Mendez was charged over allegations she slapped Firebrace.

The pair’s charges were later dismissed on mental health grounds.

The couple was subjected to apprehended domestic violence orders which included a ban on being in each other’s company for 12 hours after consuming alcohol or illicit drugs.

Firebrace posted a romantic rose-filled video of the proposal to his Instagram, saying: “I’m feeling a bit emotional but this is going to be so good, I love you so much.”
