This football star is feeling the baby fever.
Having children has always been on the cards for Sydney FC captain Natalie Tobin, and now she’s reached the stage of questioning her fertility health.
“I think it’s something that you start to think about as you get older,” Tobin told Confidential.
“I was on contraception for seven years, and then I had a lot of trouble coming off it.
“I also didn’t get my period for 10 months and that all happens due to high volumes of exercise.”
The 28-year-old is one of Sydney FC’s members who will receive fertility benefits as part of the club’s partnership with WHEN Fertility, which is a significant step in their commitment to inclusivity and reproductive health awareness.
As part of the benefits, both male and female members will gain access to advanced at-home fertility testing and education.
Though the recently married defender isn’t planning on having children “for another couple of years,” she’s determined to ensure she’s prepared when the time comes with her husband Will Fiedler.
“I hear so many people have troubles so to know, I’ve sort of put everything in place to make sure I can have kids when I want to. It is really important to me,” Tobin said.
“Also a lot of the time we previously saw when athletes had babies they wouldn’t come back to playing sport, but now times have changed and I think that’s really great.”
Tobin has been with Sydney FC for twelve years after joining the club at just 16 and has cherished every moment.
“It’s been life changing,” Tobin said.
“I’m definitely more comfortable and confident now than I did before but I guess that’s just experience.”
