After closing in August, Merivale’s famed Pool Club is being rebirthed as the relaxed Jimmy’s Rooftop.
Situated on Level Four of the CBD’s The Ivy, the venue surrounds the famous pool.
The area has been closed for months while it undergoes a complete redesign and The Daily Telegraph can reveal the new venue will open the first week of November.
Inspired by the rooftops of New York City, Jimmy’s Rooftop is a relaxed bar hoping to draw groups for drinks as the sun goes down. It’s less VIP pool club, more relaxed rooftop beer garden.
While it’s not a restaurant, Jimmy’s Rooftop is a continuation of the hospitality group’s popular restaurant, Jimmy’s Falafels.
Like at Jimmy’s Falafel, Chef Simon Zalloua is responsible for the food at Jimmy’s Rooftop and includes a tight selection of Middle Eastern wraps cooked over charcoal grill.
And of course, Jimmy’s Fries. Award-winning bartender James Irvine is behind the cocktail menu.
The Pool Club was known for its parties including on Melbourne Cup.
So to mark the new venue, Jimmy’s Rooftop will host a Cup Day party on Melbourne Cup Day which tickets now available.
Jimmy’s Rooftop will then officially open from midday on Thursday 7th November. It will be open Tuesday to Saturday from midday for walk-ins.
