Rey Vakili and her husband Johnny Ingham have welcomed the arrival of their first baby – a girl named Isla.
Sunday Confidential can reveal the high profile “It” couple are currently spending a lot of time in their home together, in the newborn love bubble and enjoying the safe arrival of their daughter.
Isla’s arrival comes two years after LTK Australia managing director Vakili and Ingham’s wedding at The White Lotus hotel in Sicily (a.k.a San Domenico Palace, Taormina) which was attended by the who’s who of Sydney.
When speaking about her pregnancy to blog Over The Moon, Vakili said she was excited to spend time at home with her husband and their baby over winter.
“The timing has been perfect, as we are about to move into winter here in Australia and everything really does slow down,” she said.
“We always said we wanted to have a year together, just the two of us, before trying to start a family. I fell pregnant almost a year to the date when we were on holiday in Italy last summer.”
When previously talking about her baby’s impending arrival, Vakili said she was excited to see Ingham become a father.
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little terrified,” she said.
“That said, I think one of the wonderful things about pregnancy is that it’s so long. It really gives you the time you need to process and prepare for what is to come.
“It also creates this sense of build-up and anticipation; it’s impossible not to feel excited by the end.
“I think the thing I am most excited about is seeing my husband as a girl dad. I know watching him with her will be one of the most beautiful parts of this journey.
“He is sandwiched between two sisters, so really he’s been preparing for this moment his whole life.”
Congratulations to the couple.
