THERE’S clearly something in the water at Nine and 2GB with word that afternoon radio host Steve Price is the latest to fall head over heels for a colleague.

Last week this columnist revealed mornings host Ray Hadley had proposed marriage to his personal assistant Sophie Baird.

The couple plan to marry next year and Sophie is now wearing a magnificent Madagascar sapphire engagement ring after the couple’s children from three previous marriages, or so the couple say, gave the union their blessing.

Now comes word Price has developed a soft spot for 2GB media sales executive Kim Dennis.

In June this column revealed Price and his second wife, Wendy Black, ex-press secretary of Joe Hockey and chief-of-staff for Greg Hunt, were estranged and selling their South Yarra terrace house.

Price was not responding to this columnist’s call concerning his rumoured new relationship yesterday.

It could be that the workforce at 2GB is spending too much time together.

The man Price replaced in the afternoon slot earlier this year, Chris Smith, previously fell for nutritionist and radio show contributor Susie Burrell, who became his second wife.

The couple welcomed twins before Smith left the radio station in July.

With breakfast host Alan Jones enjoying the platonic company of a young man who works behind the scenes on his show — Queenslander Jake Thrupp — it seems to be falling to Ben Fordham in the drive slot to spread the love outside the building — which he does by going home to wife and former Channel 7 reporter Jodie Speers, the mother of his three children.
