Sydney’s newest metro line has opened, and with it, it’s opened up a new world of food opportunities.
Metro goers will be able to travel from Tallawong, near Rouse Hill, to Redfern in less than an hour. Meaning you can be grabbing a coffee and sampling “Sydney’s best chicken sandwich” before brunch before trying a kebab for lunch.
It takes just 15 minutes to get from Central to Chatswood, meaning the range of TikTok trending food at the Chatswood interchange has never been closer.

TALLAWONG STATION
Meze Kebab and Grill
Directly across from the Metro station, this Middle Eastern restaurant has only been open for a month but already sees lines out the door for it’s pide, kebabs and snack packs.
NORWEST STATION
El Jannah Chicken
The famous Australian-founded, Lebanese chicken shop, which has locations all across Sydney, also has set up shot right near Norwest Metro station.
CHATSWOOD STATION
Mr Stonebowl
Foodies consider this Chinese food, situated in the Chatswood Interchange, to be among the best in Sydney. The branded restaurant, was first introduced in 2015 and was known as the first Chinese stone pot restaurant in the city. Now it’s dumplings and Shanghai-style dim sum are the reason people queue.
Gram Pancakes
Another TikTok trend, Gram pancakes has become popular for bringing the Japanese souffle pancakes to Sydneysiders.
VICTORIA CROSS STATION
Mary’s
The cult burger franchise has just opened at North Sydney’s new metro station. This is the brand’s first outpost in the North Shore and as well as their classic and vegan menu, they’ve also collaborated with Grumpy Donut to create the Grumpy Clucker, where a double crunch fried chicken is sandwiched between a Double Glazed Grumpy’s doughnut.
Sol Bread and Wine
Mere metres from the newest metro stop lies, Sol Bread and Wine. This new restaurant, by Etymon Projects, is a cozy coffee shop by day and transforms into a wine bar at night. One of Sydney’s most esteemed pastry chefs, Rhiann Mead, has created a selection of treats at the venue which can also be ordered to takeaway.
