Friends are rallying around TV producer Jessica Bowditch after she was slapped with an AVO.
Bowditch, whose close friends include, Jess Hempton, Elise and Josie Nyssen and Ellie Aitken and Olivia Hopkirk, is said to be “devastated and shaken” after news stories reported that police secured an AVO against her on behalf of her high-profile Barrenjoey banker husband, Dyson Bowditch.
Jessica, who has deleted all her social media accounts, has been keeping a low profile since the news broke, but she was spotted by other parents at school pick-up on Friday afternoon.
She was granted conditional bail on Wednesday after appearing at Downing Centre Local Court over a charge that she assaulted her husband.
Bowditch will fight the charge, which will reportedly see police allege a pillow was used in the course of a physical strike to the face.
Friends of the mother-of-two told Saturday Confidential the couple had split about six to nine months ago, and tensions had been high regarding living arrangements.
“There has been trouble in paradise for more than six months,” one insider said.
“They split ages ago, and she has been asking him to move out of the family home.
“Jess has deleted her Instagram page and will lay low for a while until things calm down.”
One former friend who has not commented publicly while Bowditch deals with the fallout of the AVO is former bestie Annabelle Price.
Bowditch stood by Price’s side back in 2021 when her husband, fellow high-profile investment banker and friend Fredrik “Freddie” Blencke, faced one count of common assault for allegedly attacking Price.
That October, Blencke was cleared of assaulting his wife and breaching an AVO for her protection.
It was Bowditch who gave Price’s heartfelt speech at her 30th birthday party. However, the pair are no longer on talking terms.
“Jessica and Annabelle have had a massive falling out,” one insider said. “They have absolutely nothing to do with one another anymore.”
Mr Bowditch is Barrenjoey’s co-head of equity capital markets, and has worked at JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs. Ms Bowditch is a former producer at networks Seven and Ten.
