Former Wiggle Emma Watkins’ secret pet confession

She’s best known and loved by families for her singing and dancing— but former yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins has now revealed her secret, furry obsession.

Why Emma Watkins is a crazy goat lady

CHILDREN’S entertainer Emma Watkins has proudly declared herself a “crazy goat lady”.

With 11 animals housed on her Southern Highlands property, the former yellow Wiggle has two adopted goats named Strawberry and Cream.

“I am the crazy goat lady and I am happy about it,” Watkins laughed.

“I have always had a plethora of pets at home and goats for a couple of years now.”

Watkins and partner Oliver Brian’s menagerie of animals also includes horses and rabbits.

She is on a high this week thanks to her new album, Emma Memma, topping the iTunes chart and a strong contender to go number one on the ARIA Album Chart.

“I feel overwhelmed,” she said.

“We didn’t know how it was going to play out and I am so grateful for the last chapter … I guess I never realised that this new chapter is a combination of all of the things I loved even before I joined The Wiggles.”

Sign language is a key part of the Emma Memma concept, integrated with song and dance.

Like The Wiggles, a TV show is coming.

“All of the stuff is coming,” she said.

“We are doing a co-production with Australia and Canada for the TV series and that should be coming out next year.”

Watkins’ passion for signing came at a an early age as a friend at school had two brothers that were deaf.

“Sign language is for everybody.”

“Lots of families use sign language with their children before they start talking and if children are on the autism spectrum or they might be non-verbal so visual communication itself and gesture is important for every family.”
