Fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow announces engagement to Love Island’s Matt Zukowski

The Australian fitness influencer and mother-of-three came under fire when she made her relationship with the reality TV star public in September, after leaving ex-fiance Matt Poole last December. On Sunday, she announced a new engagement.

Australian fitness influencer Tammy Hembrow announced her engagement to Love Island contestant Matt Zukowski on Sunday, sharing a video of a beach proposal to her 17.6 million followers — just three months after going public with the relationship.

“Never in my life have I felt so safe, so loved, so understood, so cared for. What a plot twist you were,” Hembrow captioned the video in which she cries, spins around in shock and kisses Zukowski, who is down on one knee in the sand.

This comes less than three months since the pair went public with their relationship, and less than a year since Hembrow split from her second fiance, Matt Poole.

Hembrow went public with Zukowski in September, ending weeks of speculation from her millions of social media followers that the pair were dating.

The new couple made their red carpet debut at Sydney premiere of TV series CAUGHT at the Opera House in September, then confirmed the relationship on Derby Day in the first week of November.

The 29-year-old said she was inundated with “judgmental” comments after debuting her relationship with Melburnian model Zukowski, who starred in the second season of Love Island Australia in 2019.

The video shared by the mother-of-three of herself and Zukowski heading to Derby Day, was flooded with criticism – with multiple people writing “another one” in reaction to the footage.

“That’s just a part of my life I’m choosing not to share anymore,” Hembrow wrote on Instagram at the time, after fans plagued her social media accounts with questions over the nature of their relationship.

“And out of respect for everyone and for my kids I just don’t feel I need to give an explanation.”

Hembrow confirmed her split from ex-fiance Matt Poole in December last year, just months after they welcomed new daughter Posy.

“Some people are just not meant to be together no matter how hard they try,” she said at the time. “We are much better as friends.”

She has two other children – son, Wolf, and another daughter, Saskia – with ex-partner Reece Hawkins. The two made headlines in 2018 when they called off their engagement after four years of dating.

Today’s announcement marks her third engagement and came as a surprise to fans, given the pair have only been dating for a matter of months. Early comments on the post are a mixture of congratulations and criticism about the speed of the relationship, with one fan likening her to Pamela Anderson.

Another wrote: “People out here finding the love of their life six times I still can’t find mine once.”
