FORMER Hi-Five star Fely Irvine has made it all the way to Hollywood Week on American Idol but she has revealed none of her performances have aired on TV — and she probably won’t even see any of the footage herself.
The bubbly 29-year-old made a YouTube clip this week after fans were desperately searching for her audition tape online.
In the video, she gave people a rundown of what happened on the day and even re-performed the entire audition.
She said Idol judge Luke Bryan was impressed with how she looked and told her “Please tell me you can sing” when she entered the room.
Irvine sings at gigs at Mastros Steakhouse in Beverly Hills, Port Beach, Malibu and Thousand Oaks with guitarist Henry O’Neill, who performed with her for her audition.
“Luke Bryan said, ‘I think I’ve heard you sing that before, every time I come out to California I always eat at Mastros’,” she said on the video.
“And the I said, ‘Wait, you mean we could’ve met before now?’ Oh crap my husband’s going to see this. No, I told Tai about it and he said we should go on a triple date or something.”
Irvine sang two songs during her audition including Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass and Grenade by Bruno Mars.
“A lot of people have been asking me whether they’re ever going to see my audition for American Idol and I’m not even going to see it unfortunately,” she said.
“I remember running in and saying something like, ‘I’m so excited!’ or, ‘I think I’m going to vomit on you.’ I screamed Lionel’s name — at him and then I sang.
“Lionel said, ‘OK I want to hear another one.’ I said, ‘Yes sir.’ So Henry put the guitar down and he went to the piano and I sang Grenade.”
Irvine admitted that her audition performance was not her best.
“(In the audition) it wasn’t the best I’ve ever sung those songs but I mean I got a golden ticket so I must’ve done something right,” she said.
“Katy said, ‘You’re really cute as a button.’ Then they said, ‘You’re going to Hollywood!’ I hugged everybody and then I ran out screaming.”
Just days ago, Irvine told her 55,000 followers on Instagram that her performance during Hollywood Week at Dolby Theatre would not be televised either.
“Last ep of #hollywoodweek airs tonight. and although my performance wont be aired, I’m beyond excited that I got to sing for @lukebryan @katyperry and @lionelrichie on the Dolby Theatre stage. THREE times,” she wrote.
“Blows my mind to think of all the people who’ve inspired me to do what I do, have all stood on that same stage.”
Irvine is married to former Home and Away star Tai Hara, 28, who is based in Sydney. The couple announced their engagement in 2015 and tied the knot in Bali in 2017.
