‘Felt like a proper CEO’: Roosters star strikes a pose with teammates

Ahead of his State of Origin debut, Sydney Roosters star Robert Toia was left feeling like the “smartest bloke in the room” when he put on a blazer for a modelling campaign.

It is a good indication your sporting star is on the rise when brands outside your industry want to work with you.

Ahead of his State of Origin debut, Sydney Roosters centre Robert Toia has appeared in a modelling campaign alongside fellow teammates Victor Radley and Blake Steep.

“The shoot was a bit of a change up from footy for me and the boys,” Radley told Confidential of fronting the campaign for Van Heusen.

“I’m not really sure how I made the cut, they definitely had their work cut out with me. But when I threw on the blazer, I felt like a proper CEO. I nearly wore it to the rest of the day’s team meetings just to feel like the smartest bloke in the room — or at least the best dressed.”

Toia, 20, is just 10 games into his first grade NRL playing career.

Originally from Auckland, he moved to Brisbane six years ago before signing with the Roosters.

He will make his Origin debut on Wednesday for the Maroons.

Asked about his date night style, Toia said: “I’d probably go with black baggy jeans, a nice top, and (Nike) Air Forces. Or if I’m dressing it up, a blazer, jeans, and a T-shirt.”

Radley meanwhile picked teammate Connor Watson, who is with the Blues tonight, as best dressed on the Roosters team.

“I’ve been known to take his clothes out of his locker,” he laughed.

“I actually look quite sharp in his gear too. I might have to steal his style.”
