Fashion designer Wayne Cooper has found love again.

The British born father of two has proposed to his partner of eight months, Elizabeth Adams, with the wedding understood to be “imminent”.

Cooper proposed to “the love of my life” at Bondi Icebergs in September.

“I knew she was the one very early on,” Cooper told Sunday Confidential.

“We both lived in Tamarama, however had never met each other.

“We met at a lunch and basically we have not ever left each other’s side since that day.”

Cooper, who was previously married to Sarah Marsh, said while the proposal came as a surprise to his fiancee, it shouldn’t have as they had been planning it since they met.

Cooper popped the question while dining at celebrity haunt, Bondi Icebergs, with owner and good friend Maurice Terzini helping make it all happen.

“I gave the ring to Maurice and said hide it somewhere. He rushed off and put it in a caviar bowl,” he said.

“Elizabeth said OMG, then opened it and there the ring was.”

Things are moving quickly for the couple.

“It’s going to be happening in our garden in Byron Bay,” Cooper said. “We have 10 acres of botanical gardens.”

The news comes five months after police arrested Cooper at his NSW north coast home after receiving reports of historical domestic violence against his former wife and model, Marsh.

Just last month, Cooper told Sunday Confidential his life and career had been ruined, even though he was acquitted of assaulting Marsh.

At the time, Cooper spoke exclusively to The Sunday Telegraph, the first time he had spoken to media after being cleared of all charges.

Cooper said they have been together since the day they met.

“I tell you what, this hasn’t been pleasant and I don’t wish this upon anybody,” Cooper said. “It has taken a toll on me and has cost me a lot of money to defend myself.

“My poor children. No child needs to see their mother or father going through something like this. I had to defend myself because I didn’t do these things.”

Cooper revealed the lengthy process also cost him his relationship with department store Myer.

“I lost my Myer contract because of the negative press,” he said. “I was with Myer for 30 years. I have really suffered.”

Myer confirmed it no longer had an association with the once-celebrated British-born fashion designer.

A spokeswoman for Myer said: “While Myer still owns the Wayne Cooper brand, Wayne is no longer employed in any capacity by Myer and he has no ongoing association with the Wayne Cooper brand.”
