On Wednesday night, NSW Farmer Andrew Guthrie sensationally sent Perth-based contestant Lucy Holland home after she claimed he’d tried to kiss her. Something Guthrie completely denies.

Breaking her silence since the episode aired, Holland, who works as an operations assistant, describes the whole experience as “horrible” and says she was railroaded by the other girls.

“Having my integrity put in to question was horrible. I pride myself on my character and anyone who knows me would call me way too honest before they‘d ever call me a liar,” she said.

“It’s hard to blame Andrew for thinking I was making stories up because all he heard was an exaggerated second hand version of what I’d actually said but it sucks that he called me a liar in front of the whole nation before coming to me first.”

“I have no idea how me telling Rachael about a goodnight peck that I’d made awkward suddenly turned in to a story about him trying to make out with me and me rejecting him. “Those words never came out of my mouth at all.

“I’m still confused by it to this day and it still hurts that I got so badly railroaded by my friends over a misunderstanding.”

Holland adds that the experience hasn’t changed her relationship with fellow contestant, and frontrunner for Andrew’s heart, Rachael Smith.

“We text or call each other every day. We’re like sisters,” she said.

While she wishes she would have left the Channel 7 show the night of the ute muster, when the drama took place, rather than wait for Andrew to ask her to leave.

“It was hard to tell if I had a connection with Andrew because we didn‘t really spend much time together,” she said.

“We got along well and there was definitely chemistry the few times we did hang out. Most of my experience on the farm was just hanging out with the girls though.”

Guthrie, a sheep farmer from Delegate, describes the drama as “one of the worst times of my life.”
