A year after tying the knot in one of Sydney’s top society weddings, prominent girl about town Nadia Fairfax is finally planning her honeymoon with a twist.
Fairfax along with new husband Michael Wayne will embark on a ‘matemoon’ in June, travelling to Turkey with a group of friends to celebrate their nuptials.
Confidential hears the couple had originally planned to wed in Bodrum, Turkey, but had to put those plans on ice due to the pandemic.
They instead were married in a lavish celebrity-filled party at Swifts mansion in Darling Point on March 25 last year.
“Obviously Covid had other plans so it was a Sydney wedding,” a friend noted to Confidential. “They really wanted to celebrate with an overseas holiday and wanted their friends involved too.”
Around 40 are expected in the group to fly out to Turkey, where they will stay at Macakizi Hotel on the Aegean Sea.
It is a favoured holiday destination for the likes of Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
Fairfax, one of our top influencers who works with all the luxe brands, actually worked at the hotel many years ago when she spent a year in Turkey after studying journalism.
Her godfather – Andrew Jacobs – is general manager of the property.
Among those expected to make the trip include Harriet Williams and Andy El Bayah, who themselves had a massive $1 million wedding in the Southern Highlands at the weekend.
Others include Alyce and Caroline Tran, Billy Mitchell and Michael Porter and Elliott Garnaut. Adrian Norris, of local fashion house, Aje, will also be there.
Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson will attend before many of the guests travel on with them to Cicily, where they will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.
