Erin Molan has denied she has split with her partner Sean Ogilvy, saying the pair were happy and living out the isolation together with their daughter Eliza.
There had been speculation that the pair had split after Molan had been spotted without her engagement ring on for several months, and last week she quipped that it would be nice to be “young and in love again” when discussing a footballer’s engagement.
But Molan told Confidential that they are still together as a couple, living together and parenting their toddler together at their Randwick home.
“We are very happy, I don’t talk about Sean a lot because his job is quite a unique job so we’re quite private when it comes to our relationship,” she said.
“But we are both very good and happy and we’re very much in love with our daughter which is the most important thing.”
Ogilvy is a homicide detective, which has required him to take a public back seat compared to Molan’s high profile media commitments.
The pair were engaged in 2017 and their daughter was born June 2018.
With an almost two-year-old, Molan was thrust into the unique situation of finding childcare for Eliza in the midst of a pandemic and has since teamed up with Toddle, a revolutionary child care web service that uses the same comparison model as insurance and travel industries.
Right now the service is also focusing on teaching kids personal hygiene to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and has released a storybook called The Boogers Are Coming, available to download for free and print out at home in full-colour.
She said having found a trustworthy daycare at this difficult milestone had made leaving her little shadow slightly easier.
“I never thought I’d be that parent that would get in the car and be inconsolable because my daughter was a bit upset about going to a play centre,” she said.
“But I became that parent because the thought of them being a bit insecure or frightened is just awful.
“Thank goodness she’s now turned a corner and she absolutely loves it. Because it ruins your day, you just sit at home or go to work and worry about them.
“When you find the right place it’s so important for every other aspect of your life because they’re your most precious commodity.”
