CHANNEL 9Â’s Eddie McGuire has reneged on a job offer to a Grasmere teen who won $50,000 on game show Millionaire Hot Seat last Tuesday.

McGuire had promised Taylor Auerbach, 18, a journalism student at the University of Technology Sydney and budding sports reporter, a job at Channel 9 if he answered a crucial question correctly.

But on Friday, McGuire told the Macarthur Chronicle the win had taxed the network’s coffers too much to add the former Broughton Anglican College student as a staff member.

“With Taylor taking out fifty grand last week there is no more budget for a job,” McGuire said.

“Clearly he’s smart enough that he doesn’t need my help any more.”
