Socialite Annabelle Price, 32, has shocked the tight-knit social circles of Sydney’s eastern suburbs by announcing her engagement to ‘playboy’ investor Tom Fennell, 50.
The former model, known for only dating millionaires, showed off her huge engagement ring on Instagram, announcing their pending nuptials by tagging her fiance in a post on Saturday.
Fennell, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday with a wild Playboy Mansion-themed soiree, also shared a photo of himself with Price, and the caption: “Happy days, she said yes.”
Confidential was first alerted to their wife swap among the lofty echelons of the social set in July 2022, with word the millionaire former private equity worker was dating Price.
This is where things get complicated.
Fennell was previously married to charity fundraiser and newly minted Real Housewives of Sydney star Vanessa Fennell, whom he split from in 2020.
Price is 18 years his junior and shares two children with her private wealth advisor ex-husband, Freddie Blencke.
Blencke plead not guilty to assaulting his then-wife Price in children’s hospital in March 2022.
By May, he’d been sentenced in Waverley Local Court to a 12-month community corrections order and fined $750 after pleading guilty to assaulting a police officer, causing bodily harm and staying in the vicinity of licenced premises after being asked to leave.
While he spent the previous Christmas and New Year behind bars, Price began staying at Fennell’s lavish Rose Bay apartment with her two young children.
The glamorous young mum was seen driving around the east in his $260,000 Range Rover Autobiography, while friends told this column she was displaying behaviour that was “impulsive” and “out of character”.
These comments followed an incident on Mark Taylor’s multimillion-dollar One O One superyacht, in which Price had reportedly argued with Taylor’s model girlfriend Anna Kedzior over a pair of expensive designer sunglasses.
Fennell is a descendant of Sir Willian Tyree, the pioneering electrical engineer who established transformer company Tyree Industries at a small shop on Parramatta Road, which went on to become the biggest company of its type in the Southern Hemisphere, and his descendants multi-millionaires.
