After almost two decades, eastern suburbs power couple Kirsten and Jean Marc Carriol have ended their marriage.
Saturday Confidential can reveal the multimillion-dollar beauty entrepreneur and her wealthy husband have gone their separate ways.
Close friends are shocked by the news, with many referring to the pair as one of the original ‘it’ couples of Sydney’s east.
They were part of the eastern suburbs’ original elite social clique, which included Ellie and Charlie Aitken, and held an annual ‘Carriol Easter Hunt’ – an exclusive and coveted invitation on the Sydney social calendar.
They would hold the no-expense-spared event at their sprawling $10m property on King St in Vaucluse and, according to those close to the couple, “it was an honour to be invited”.
“Kirsten and Jean Marc are adored as a couple,” one close friend told Sunday Confidential.
“We all can’t believe their marriage has ended.”
The pair are understood to have quietly parted ways a few months ago and are living separately, with Jean Marc remaining in the couple’s Vaucluse compound (which was formerly owned by his parents) with their two children, boys Delphin and Casper, while Kirsten is believed to have moved into a nearby Paddington property.
Jean Marc’s family was behind one of the country’s biggest beauty distributors, Trimex, and he is now chairman at Saint Germain holdings.
Kirsten has seen monumental success since her cult brand Lanolips launched in 2003, often branded the “world’s best lip balm”. It is used and loved by Sienna Miller, Drew Barrymore and Kim Kardashian West.
Saturday Confidential reached out to Kirsten for comment, however she did not respond prior to going to print.
