Breakfast TV host Karl Stefanovic and his shoe designer wife Jasmine have purchased their first family home together in Sydney.
And it’s in their current Castlecrag neighbourhood.
It seems all those walks taking baby Harper May around the bushland suburb in her stroller have paid off with the couple honing in on a whisper quiet off-market listing in their price bracket.
The couple had a pressing need as their rental home was recently sold, hastening their desire to secure their own abode.
The luxury 2001-built rental was recently sold at $8 million plus given its Middle Harbour views.
The couple moved in last March, leaving a Mosman rental on the Castlecrag peninsular.
There is no indication of the price the Stefanovics have paid in the Castlecrag, where the median house price sits at a record $3,295,000 high, according to realestate.com.au.
The suburb median ranks in the top 24 Sydney suburbs.
Insiders tell Confidential the house is a modest three-bedder family home that the couple will use as their Sydney base when in town. They split their time between Sydney, where Stefanovic works, and Queensland, where Jasmine’s family are based.
The purchase is understood to be one of the most tightly held streets in the coveted suburb. Just two houses are currently for sale in Castlecrag.
The couple’s primary residence is on the Sunshine Coast, with a property snapped up in both their names in January last year for $3.6 million.
It’s likely been a very good buy given the boom in coastal Queensland holiday destinations since the pandemic.
