Spin bowler Nathan Lyon is set to wed his girlfriend Emma McCarthy, and are already planning their big day.

Cricket’s wedding of the year is well under way. Spin bowler Nathan Lyon, who unceremoniously dumped his ex-wife Mel Waring back in 2017, is set to wed his girlfriend Emma McCarthy later this year according to a friend of the pair who say plans of the big day are currently being mapped out.

It’s understood the couple will tie the knot before friends and family at a ceremony in September.

A wedding will cap a controversial courtship for the pair who confirmed their engagement during Australia’s Test capitulation in Brisbane after McCarthy flashed a whopping diamond ring in the players’ partners seating enclosure.

The 29-year-old has been posting a running account of her wedding dress search on her Instagram.
