Through The Window – Tim Robards

Tim Robards has urged Aussies to stick to the basics as many of us self-isolate or work from home.

The fitness expert, chiropractor and Neighbours TV soap actor says people need to take care of their bodies to be the healthiest version of ourselves.

“It is a good time for us to rethink and get back to absolute basics with our fitness,” he said. “There is a lot you can do in your living room or backyard.

“We should look at the basics to reassess where we have been neglecting ourselves. It is not necessarily a hindrance to not have access to barbels and things like that, there is so much we can still work on that is healthy for us. Learn how to do a handstand or push-up. Now is the time to build those basic foundations.”

With the coronavirus ever changing and continuing to unfold, the former Bachelor star is making his 12 minute ab challenge free through his app for the next six weeks.

He has also partnered with Medibank for its Live Better at Home initiative, providing free mobility workouts, stretching and healthy cooking tutorials for the next few weeks.

Physical and mental health are equally important, he added.

“We have got to try and balance our mental state as well and our physical and mental wellbeing,” he said. “I am trying to do as much as I can at home but going for a walk while staying away from public areas, while we can do it, I am doing that where I can.”

Robards, 37, is based in Melbourne during the week where he is shooting Channel 10s Neighbours and returns to Sydney to be with wife, Anna Heinrich, at weekends.

The couple are doing their best to stay home wherever possible.

That is the unknown, you don’t know if they are going to close borders or whatever,” the former Bachelor star said. “I will keep doing what I can and what is responsible, it may mean I will have to jump in the car or whatever to get home but I will do what I can. It is hard because I want to be home with my wife but I have also got a responsibility to the show. It is a balancing act.”
