THERE was a high-profile turnout to the wedding of the year between NRL star Cooper Cronk and Fox Sports presenter Tara Rushton yesterday.
Ex-Australian soccer player and presenter Robbie Slater was one of the first to arrive has at the exclusive Jonah’s at Whale Beach on Sydney’s northern beaches.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy arrived wearing a paisley purple shirt and navy jacket.
The intensely private couple had a guest list of no more than 50 people, including high-profile sporting friends and family.
The groom wore a grey suit, white shirt and navy tie with a single red rose on his lapel, matching Tara’s bouquet of red roses.
She wore a semi-backless spaghetti strap dress with a beaded bodice with tan high heels.
Cronk capped the most extraordinary year of his career, which has included a premiership win with Melbourne, World Cup glory and a new future at the Sydney Roosters, by committing to Rushton.
In April Cronk sparked the biggest transfer war in NRL history after announcing he was moving to Sydney to be with Rushton.
The Storm and Queensland star shocked the rugby league world when he said he would leave Melbourne for the Harbour City at the end of the season.
“Tara my fiancee is based in Sydney and there’s a few things in life that are more important than football, like family, getting married and a future,” he said at the time.
He signed a two-year deal with the Sydney Roosters in October which is estimated to be worth $2 million over two seasons.
