Hollywood actor Matt Damon and homegrown superstar Chris Hemsworth have swapped the sun of Mykonos for the high-end restaurant Beach Byron Bay to celebrate Channel 9 presenter Lauren Phillips’ boyfriend’s birthday, along with other Aussie socialites.
Hemsworth, donning a checkered shirt and sunglasses was accompanied by wife Elsa Pataky, with Damon arriving with three presents for the birthday bash.
Other faces at the event included Damon’s wife Luciana, Phillips’ friend Lucy Nettlefold and disgraced former Vocation chief executive Mark Hutchinson and his wife Sophie.
Hemsworth and Damon have been mates for over a decade and co-starred in three films including two Thor flicks and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.
The two have often been spotted together in recent years, with Damon bringing his family to the Hemsworths’ haven of Byron Bay repeatedly before he was rumoured to have splashed $22 million a waterfront mansion himself in 2020.
Most recently, the two families were spotted soaking up the Mediterranean rays on the party island of Mykonos which has become a Hollywood holiday hotspot.
Aside from parties and trips abroad, Damon and Hemsworth are both enjoying a hot streak in the Hollywood limelight.
Damon’s new film Oppenheimer has received strong reviews, boasting a 94 per cent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, while Hemsworth’s latest Netflix movie ‘Extraction 2’ set the record for Netflix's biggest opening weekend of 2023, with 88.4 million hours viewed.
