The setting was stunning, the food divine and the waitstaff nailed it, however time wasn’t of the essence at the preview of South Australian chef Jock Zonfrillo’s three-hatted restaurant Orana In Residence on Monday night.

Guests at the much-hyped 22-course dinner, which was held at the former Longrain space in Surry Hills and attended by model Tegan Martin, Bachelor duo Anna Heinrich and Tim Robards and singer Samantha Jade, were reportedly less than impressed when the initial 9pm finish time was pushed out to midnight.

However they were not seated until 8pm and were only up to course 12 by 9.30pm. And with each course delicious but bite-sized, many ravenous guests joked about grabbing a McDonald’s burger on their way home.

Heinrich and Robards were among those who departed well before the final courses were dished up.

Sunday Confidential hears the event was delayed by the late arrival of a politician.
