It seemed like a match made in influencer heaven – the country’s top swimwear designer joining forces with an up and coming “it” girl.
However four years after Natasha Oakley teamed up with jewellery designer Emma Pillemer, the pair have had a major falling out.
It was revealed in 2021 that Oakley, the founder of Monday Swimwear, had invested heavily in Pillemer’s jewellery brand, Emma Pills, and taken on the role of CEO.
The company, founded by 23-year-old Pillemer, was one of a few other brands Oakley had invested in at the time, including The Pilates Class.
Oakley’s investment came as the brand was launching in the US and was tipped to be turning over $1 million by 2023.
Oakley did have Emma Pills listed in her Instagram bio, however it has since been deleted and the pair no longer follow one another on social media.
While they initially hit it off, sources say the pair clashed and their relationship has since soured.
“They are both big personalities and wildly independent,” one source said.
“What started off as a really exciting relationship, turned not long after. Tash has removed Emma Pills from her Instagram bio, but has kept the other companies she is working with there. It’s clear there’s bad blood.”
Oakley has previously stated how she met Pills and how they hit it off immediately.
“Emma would be so sweet and give to me some jewellery,” Oakley said once.
“I slowly watched the range develop. I didn’t at first have an intention to invest in or be a part of the brand.”
