THE contestants may be everyday Aussies but the reality TV house is hiding one sexy secret — Big Brother is hot.

Casting agents went for relatability and personality over “Instagram hot” when selecting this year’s housemates however host Sonia Kruger says the show’s man of mystery is a certified hunk.

It’s just a shame we’ll probably never get to see him.

“Big Brother is hot,” Kruger told The Sunday Telegraph. “He is a bit of an international man of mystery to be honest. He is very mischievous and it’s hard to talk about him as a real person.

“But he is quite cute … I can tell you that much.”

The 2020 contestants have been championed by fans for being older, wiser and more interesting than in the past, with Kruger saying: “I think Australians can see themselves reflected,”

Proof it has worked for Seven has been in the ratings, with 1.22 million viewers tuning into the debut broadcast. The show is luring the key 25 to 54-year-old and 16 to 39-year-old demographics, which Seven needed.

The Sunday Telegraph can also reveal the program will return to air next year, with casting now open.

“I’m very excited it’s back next year,” Kruger said.

“Someone said to me once there is only two emotions in television; it’s either disappointment or a relief. “So I was relieved. You want to be able to celebrate, but most of the time you are just relieved it has resonated and worked.”

Kruger, who hosted Big Brother for Channel 9 between 2012 and 2014, said this is the “best season ever.

“This year is better than I expected,” she said.

“It has brought a whole new group of fans to the show. As well as reuniting Big Brother with his existing core fans, it has been good for this whole new generation.

“That’s what’s been brilliant about it, for the first time in ten years it’s secured that younger audience for Seven.”
