From rugby league to TV and now the fitness game, Beau Ryan is getting into the gym business.
The former Wests Tigers and Cronulla Sharks star has come on board as an ambassador for Sweat 1000 group training.
Currently there are two outlets across Sydney – Coogee and Bondi Junction – with a further four to open over the coming months.
“Training is a big part of my life,” Ryan said. “I like training in a group and team environment, it is what I did when I was a professional athlete so it is nice to carry that on.”
Ryan, 36, who is a regular on the couch on Studio 10 and hosts reality show The Amazing Race, works out at least four times a week to maintain his fitness.
Sweat 1000 was founded by Ryan’s close mate, Keiran Turner, with the pair taking on established chain F45, which is fronted by Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg.
“We run, row, ride, hit, lift and sauna,” Turner said.
“We don’t have leaderboards all over the walls like other concepts comparing you to others, it’s all about competing with yourself. There are no mirrors, no egos, just sweat.”
