Walking the runway for Christian Dior, the 19-year-old Sudanese-Australian model presented a corsetted silk gown which faded from grey to cream, teamed with an embellished swimming-cap style headpiece.

Akech’s appearance comes just weeks after she was named the world’s number one model by the top designers and fashion editors on models.com, knocking Gigi Hadid and Kaia Gerber off their perch.
In the days following, the teen opened up about suffering from depression and anxiety through a video posted on social media.
“I would wake up every morning crying but put the biggest smile on my face and tried my hardest to push through the day pretending I was fine, then I’d come home and cry some more and go to sleep,” she said.
Akech was the breakout model of 2018, featuring in American Vogue, British Vogue, Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris and Australian Vogue.
She also made history as the second black model to walk as a bride in a Chanel haute couture show, after being hand picked by creative director Karl Largerfeld.
Australian designers Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo of fashion label Ralph and Russo also launched their spring collection in Paris, featuring an abundance of feathers, multi-coloured crystals and asymmetric garments.
