Australian Hair Fashion Awards: Richie Grisillo NSW’s best hairdresser

The best hairdressers in the country have been revealed during the industry’s annual awards including the New South Wales winner.

The cream of the crop of the Australian hair industry have been recognised with Richie Grisillo named NSW Hairdresser of the Year.

The 28th annual Australian Hair and Fashion Awards honoured the top of the industry in a COVID-safe way with 300 of the industry attending the VIP event at Sydney’s Luna Park Big Top and hundreds more tuning in to the event online from around Australia.

Melbourne’s Jamie Furlan, of Xiang Hair, took home the top award, named AHFA Australian Hairdresser of the Year while winners were announced from each state.

A total of 26 awards were handed out, including categories covering makeup, product, stylist, avant-garde, creative colourist, apprentice and newcomer of the year.

“The hair, fashion and beauty industries have faced extreme challenges during the global pandemic, but their sense of community saw them come together to support each other and counteract their struggles and emerge with an even stronger show of creativity, innovation and skill that we passionately celebrated on the night,” AHFA founder and M Division chief executive David Mannah said.
