Aussie fashion star’s surprising new friend on luxury Cannes ‘girls trip’

Aussie fashion designer Rebecca Vallance has added a surprising new name to her inner-sanctum of famous friends — the ex-wife of That ‘70s Show star Danny Masterson.

Australian fashion designer Rebecca Vallance has been moving in the top circles of Hollywood at the world’s biggest and most prestigious film festival.

Confidential was intrigued to see snaps of Vallance alongside Bijou Phillips, who infamously divorced That ‘70s Show actor Danny Masteron days after he was jailed for 30 years.

The former model and actor found herself at the centre of a global storm last September, following the conviction and imprisonment of her famous husband.

She supported Masterson throughout the lengthy court proceedings, sobbed into a handkerchief during the sentencing, and then filed for divorce 12 days after he began serving his 30-year to life prison sentence.

Now she’s on a luxury European “girls trip” with the high flying Sydney fashion designer and Nicky Hilton, with the trio sharing snaps from London and the French Riveria.

“We started our trip in London before heading to Cannes and it has been non-stop since landing,” Vallance told The Daily Telegraph.

“So far, we headed to the Miu Miu summer event, then to Chopard ‘Once Upon A Time’ Evening – with lots more to come. It’s been an absolutely incredible experience so far.”

The Cannes Film Festival is all about ultra-glam red carpets and late, late night parties, but Miu Miu splashed some serious cash on the out-of-the-box daytime event, inviting English model and actor Cara Delevigne to host.

Vallance and Nicky Hilton Rothschild are longtime friends — with Hilton’s older sister Paris catapulting the Aussie brand into an entirely new stratosphere of stardom — but Phillips appears to be a new addition to their inner-circle.

The American former model made a rare appearance at a Grammys 2024 viewing party days after her ex-husband was transferred to a California prison that once housed Charles Manson.

“I’m doing good,” she told E! News, adding that she and Masterson’s 9-year-old daughter, Fianna, are a “great little team.”

Her unexpected appearance comes less than a month after it was reported that Phillips, 43, had left the Church of Scientology, which reportedly expelled Masterson, 47, after he was sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping two women.

Hilton and Phillips both shared the same photos to their social media accounts, posing and smiling together in matching Rebecca Vallance dresses.

“The bobbsey twins!” Phillips captioned, while Hilton wrote, “Two peas in a pod”.

On the origins of her friendship with Hilton, Vallance said: “Nicky reached out a few years ago via DM when she was pregnant because she loved a dress. We ended up dressing Nicky a few times and became good friends naturally. We also have some friends in common.”

“We’re both very excited to be able to attend Cannes Film Festival together this year, we’re having a great time.”

Vallance was not available to comment on her connection to Phillips at the time of publication due to travelling.

On Wednesday night, it was the Aussie designer who twinned with the US socialite in matching custom gowns of her own in their “personal” hues.

Vallance wore a bold red which featured 30-metres of Spanish taffeta, full internal corsetry along with a one-metre train, pockets, and a thigh split.

While Hilton said she was “sparking in the Riveria,” in her baby blue sequin ensemble, with more than 2000 crystals.

The Australian designer’s eponymous label, which she launched in London 13 years ago, thrives in a league of its own with her roster of A-list clients and friends.

Last month, “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, 51, wore one of her dresses to Victoria Beckham’s $480K birthday bash.

Other notable fans are Eva Longoria (whom Vallance says she’s dressed twice for Cannes); Eva Mendes; Paris Hilton, Zara Tindall; Dakotah Johnson; Noami Campbell, and Rita Ora.
