After being accused for weeks of being on the rocks, Anna Heinrich and Tim Robards refused to pass judgment on the most recent Bachelor couple to split, Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod.
Tongues were left wagging after the couple arrived separately to the Melbourne Cup and Robards attended sans wedding ring, but the pair have valiantly denied break-up rumours.
They say their relationship is stronger than ever, and fending off rumours meant they would never pass judgment on another couple.
“It’s not our place,” Robards said when asked what he thought of Agnew and Mcleod’s confirmed split.
“I think anyone going through that doesn’t need everyone to weigh in and give their opinions. “I know it sells a headline but it’s not our place to comment.
Heinrich added: “We would never comment on another person’s relationship because you never know what’s going on behind closed doors.”
Robards also said their own split rumours were “silliness” and Heinrich said their relationship has never been better.
They are even returning to their role as Piper-Heidsieck champagne ambassadors at The Australian Open in January, which would be a risky move for a couple whose relationship is supposedly rocky.
But they say, theirs is not: “Every year we get better as a couple because we have obstacles to get over,” Heinrich said.
But not be shocked if you catch the couple at The Australian Open and Robards is not wearing his wedding ring – he said he rarely wears it because he is afraid he will lose it.
