Former TV host Andrew O’Keefe has been spotted for the first time since being charged with ­allegedly assaulting his partner.

Andrew O’Keefe was all smiles as he was photographed for the first time since being charged with ­allegedly assaulting his partner in January.

The beleaguered television game show host was snapped outside exclusive rehabilitation centre, the Sydney Clinic, where he has been undergoing treatment.

The 49-year-old appeared upbeat wearing a snug-fitting purple T-shirt and floral shorts as he joined a male friend for a walk and a bite to eat at Bronte cafe, Huxtons.

The Sydney Clinic is a private mental hospital assisting patients with various conditions including mood disorders, substance abuse and behaviour therapy.

Father of three O’Keefe is the nephew of Australian rock legend Johnny O’Keefe. He is a former chairman and ambassador for domestic violence foundation White Ribbon Australia.

O’Keefe was arrested in the early hours of January 31 and charged with assaulting his partner Dr Orly Lavee at her Randwick apartment.

He was released before being taken to hospital for mental health treatment.

Last week police laid two more charges in court. Police allege the former game show host assaulted Dr Lavee occasioning actual bodily harm in a second incident on the same evening in Randwick.

The third charge – common assault – allegedly took place at Kangaroo Valley ten days earlier.

O’Keefe was not in Waverley Local Court last week after his lawyers flagged they would apply to have the original charge dealt with under mental health grounds.

The court previously heard O’Keefe would plead guilty to the original charge if his mental health application failed.

The case was adjourned for a one-hour hearing on June 25, where reports from doctors would be tendered.

Attempts to contact O’Keefe, a former Weekend Sunrise host and Deal Or No Deal presenter, via email and mobile phone went unanswered.

“Hi this is Andrew O’Keefe, I welcome your calls, unless you are a collection agency, in which case I will tolerate your call and do my best to oblige with your demands or requests,” he said in his voicemail.

“Please leave your name and number and in turn I will get back to you and hopefully you will welcome mine likewise.”

In February, Channel 7 confirmed O’Keefe had departed the network before the charges. He had however already filmed more than six months of episodes of game show The Chase that have screened weekday evenings since.
