Amazing Race contestant Sidney Pierucci will front a Sydney court this week after being slapped with an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order by police on behalf of his girlfriend and race partner Ashley Ruscoe.
Court documents show NSW Police took out the ADVO after an incident at the couple’s Bellevue Hill apartment last month.
“Police have charged a 27-year-old man following a domestic related incident at Bellevue Hill,” a police statement read.
“About 3am on Monday 14 October 2019, police spoke to a woman in Birriga Street regarding an alleged domestic altercation. A man was arrested nearby and taken to Waverley Police Station and charged with assault and destroy/damage property.”
Mr Pierucci was granted bail and will appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday.
The couple, nor broadcaster Channel 10, would comment when contacted, although it is believed the pair broke up after the incident and are now “trying to make the relationship work”.
Billed as ‘the influencers’, they are one team from 11 that set out in the debut episode of reality show The Amazing Race on Monday night.
In their show bio, the ‘fiery’ couple claim to enjoy the finer things in life including luxurious holidays and fine dining.
Stating his proudest achievement in life, Mr Pierucci claimed “my bulletproof self-esteem and freedom. I have an insane level of self confidence in my ability to get through any situation, regardless of what life throws my way”.
In her producer interview, Ms Ruscoe said the worst part of travelling with Mr Pierucci on the Amazing Race was that “we can sometimes get irritated with each other and are both very stubborn, so arguments can sometimes escalate”.
Details of the ADVO state Mr Pierucci must not “approach or be in the company of Ashley Alsione Ruscoe for at least 12 hours after drinking alcohol or taking illicit drugs”.
“The defendant must not do any of the following to Ashley Alsione Ruscoe, or anyone she has a domestic relationship with: A. assault or threaten her, B. stalk, harass or intimidate her, and C. intentionally or recklessly destroy or damage any property that belongs to or is in the possession of Ashley Alsione Ruscoe.”
