Simon Cowell revealed that he’s done getting Botox injections and fillers because it made him look “like something out of a horror film”.
Speaking at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards on Monday, the former American Idol judge said he felt pressure to maintain a youthful appearance.
“There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other,” the British TV personality told The Sun.
The 62-year-old — who accepted the Best Reality Show award for America’s Got Talent with his cast mates Heidi Klum, Sofía Vergara, Howie Mandel and Terry Crews — shared that he realised his facial tweaks had gotten out of hand.
“There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day, and didn’t recognise it as me first of all,” he said in the interview.
In fact, Cowell admitted his eight-year-old son, Eric, was “in hysterics” about his overly filled face.
“Enough was enough,” the media personality said. “There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero.”
Over the years, the iconic TV star has undergone various procedures and treatments — including a facelift in 2018, a litany of facials, vegan diets and teeth veneers after his scary e-bike crash in 2020.
As for his current skincare secrets, Cowell told The Sun he’s going back to basics, relying on eating better and upping his water intake.
“The only good thing of getting older is you have a lot of experience and it’s not always about the things you did well — it’s also about the things you didn’t.”
