Actor Olympia Valance has hit out at a 14-day home quarantine after her return from Sydney as “beyond ridiculous”.
Valance was part of the cast of Dancing With the Stars: All Stars and is angry about the mandatory requirement.
“Not normally one to whinge about this sort of stuff, but the fact that we have a quarantine for 14 days coming from Sydney, fully vaxxed and tested twice a week for work for the last 6 weeks seems beyond ridiculous,’’ Valance wrote on Instagram.
“I can legit go back to Sydney now with the case numbers as they stand and not spend one day in isolation. This is my third quarantine now. I totally understood the last two as it was keeping our country and states safe .. but this one just makes me angrier and angrier as the hours go by.”
Valance isn’t the only Victorian contestant of the Channel 7 show having to go through quarantine, with model Kris Smith also posting that it ‘sucks’.
The requirement returning from a red zone is to quarantine for 14 days regardless of any negative test result and to get tested for Covid within 72 hours of arriving, and again on day 13 of the quarantine period.
Valance posted that New South Wales recorded 360 new local Covid cases and five deaths, while Victoria recorded 1466 new cases and eight deaths on Tuesday.
Sydney also celebrated Freedom Day on Monday, opening up after four months of lockdown as the state reached a 70 pe rcent double-dose vaccination target for over 16s.
Most restrictions have now eased for fully vaccinated people.
