New Hawk Josh Battle has ticked off another joyous moment after pulling off a surprise wedding.

Battle, who left the Saints as a free agent at the end of last year, proposed to partner Casey Ollier in September and they welcomed their daughter Bobbi Lee Battle in April last year.

Their engagement party turned into a marriage on Friday with Battle shedding tears as their daughter Billie wheeled baby Bobbi down the aisle at San Lorenzo restaurant in Scoresby.

Wedding guests were captured in shock saying “taking the piss” when they realised what was happening.

“Today I stand here knowing that you are the person I want to spend every moment of my life with,’’ Battle said.

“You are my best friend, my greatest support and love of my life.”

Casey was also emotional, saying in her vows: “You are my partner, the father of our children. My best friend... you are the love of my life.”

Casey wore a stunning white gown by Made With Love Bridal with the words ‘Swear on our heart’ embroidered into her veil by Melbourne Creative Studio.

In December Battle told the Herald Sun it had been a very tough decision to leave the Saints after 123 games and paid tribute to partner Casey.

“It was definitely one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in my life,” he said.

“To be honest I was lucky as we just had Bobbi, there was a lot going on at home so the distraction wasn’t as big as it may have seemed.

“Case has been amazing and we knew we’d get to the end of the year and really nut it out, have a good think about what is best for us, what is best for the future.

“I can’t underestimate how big the decision was.”
