Meet your new Goggleboxers – Mia, Bree and Lainey – three outspoken 20-somethings from the Shire who aren’t afraid to say what they think.

Sisters Mia and Bree, together with close friend Lainey, have four cavoodles between them – Zala, Zeah, Zola and Bailey – and if Gogglebox fans are wondering whether they’re outspoken, the answer from all three is a resounding yes.

“You’re talking to three girls in the Shire in their 20s, so good luck to the public,” Mia laughs.

“I think it’s just going to be a really fun show and I think people are really going to enjoy it because it’s so great already. I think it will be nice to have some loud opinions and jokes from people that are a bit different to what they’ve already got.

“It’s just gonna add such value.

“It hasn’t really clicked yet – I don’t know if it’s because we haven’t seen our rude heads on TV yet, and we may feel a bit different when that happens, but I think there is an opportunity you have to take it. And these opportunities may come with backlash, but I mean, you’re not going to say no to Gogglebox are you?”

Mia, 26, is in her final year of studying special education teaching and currently works in education, with a background in disability support. Mia’s little sister is 23-year-old Bree, whose best friend Lainey is 20, and both are dance teachers. Mia and Bree live together in the family home while Lainey is just 10 minutes up the road from her friends – and the trio all agree the beauty of them joining the beloved Gogglebox couch is their no-filter approach.

“We’re gonna say what the rest of the public are thinking,” Lainey tells Insider.

“Comments come up that 20 to 26-year-old girls at home think when we’re watching TV, so it’s nice that we are the ones to be able to say it out loud and everyone be like, ‘oh yeah, I was thinking the same thing’.

“I also feel that if the public didn’t know that it was two sisters and an additional friend, they would just think that all three of us were best friends. I feel like there’s no real difference.

“Bree and Mia don’t fight like sisters, it’s a friendship as well, so that comes across on the lounge.”

Bree says, for them, Gogglebox was always on in the background, so being on screen is a surreal thought.

“Lainey and I are friends through work. We met because we both teach at the same dance studio, and we’ve always been fans of the show – even with Mia, it’s like our comfort show. If we ever have a day or afternoon at home, it was on pretty often,” she says.

“It actually came through someone else that Lainey and I work with each other as well, and the opportunity arose and we thought why would we not jump on board and give it a go?”

They will film a few nights a week from Mia and Bree’s family home, and say they’ll appeal to a younger audience.

“I think that we will be quite suitable to the younger demographic that will watch the show – they’ve got some really good families and some of the older demographic, but I think people our age that watch the show, we haven’t seen many females our age for a while so I think it will get that type of market, and be easily relatable for people in our generation,” Bree continues.

And if you’re wondering whether they’re funny – well, they think they’re hilarious.

“But whatever the public want to believe, that’s on them,” Mia laughs.

“But it’s literally what you see is exactly what we are at home.

“There’s no fakeness – it’s very genuine. You’re gonna hear the stupid comments and the blonde moments and all the jokes – lots of banter. We laugh at each other.”

Mia, Bree and Lainey will join Gogglebox originals – the cricket-mad Delpechitra family; happily married grandparents Lee and Keith; Greek best friends Anastasia and Faye; and tight-knit family of four The Daltons. Also returning are best mates and larrikins, Adam and Symon; mother and daughter Kerry and Izzy; Matty along with sons Malik, baby Lyon and Uncle Jad; brother and sister foodies Tim and Leanne; surfers and best mates Milo and Nic, and friends Kevin, Bob, Jared and Mia when the award-winning show returns for its 10th year.

Gogglebox Australia premieres Wednesdays at 7.30pm from February 21 on FOXTEL and

Thursday, February 22, at 8.30pm on 10 and 10 Play
