Who knew one of Australia’s most passionate Swfties was an Oscar-nominated actress?
Muriel’s Wedding and The Sixth Sense star Toni Collette has been living her best life over the past few days, attending Taylor Swift’s huge Sydney stadium shows – not once, not twice, but three times in a row.
Collette, 51, was first spotted in the celebrity-filled VIP tent at Friday’s opening show, stood among a Mount Rushmore of stars including Baz Luhrmann, Rita Ora, Taika Waititi, Katy Perry and of course Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce.
The next night she was back again, this time hanging with another famous Aussie export – Rebel Wilson:
Night three, and Collette was back – this time posting a video as she re-entered the stadium midway through the show:
As of yet, there’s no word whether Collette attended Swift’s fourth and final Sydney show on Monday night, but based on her track record, we wouldn’t be surprised if she made it a clean sweep.
And Collette’s three-show Sydney stint isn’t even the first time she’s seen the Eras Tour live.
Back in July last year, she posted several videos from Swift’s tour stop in Cincinnati, Ohio, along a gushing tribute to the star.
“Your talent is immeasurable and your generosity boundless. Thank you for sharing it all with the world. You bring endless joy and inspiration to many, including me. It’s bloody brilliant seeing you having the time of your life up there. We’ll never forget it. Brava lady!” she wrote.
In a follow-up post, Collette went even further, comparing Swift’s writing talent to that of William Shakespeare.
“In an English class at school my daughter’s teacher read the writing of William Shakespeare and Taylor Swift to the students who then had to guess who penned each paragraph or sentence. They often guessed Shakespeare when it was in fact Taylor. Her musical storytelling is timeless and ageless and often speaks to the soul,” she wrote.
Collette is one of dozens of high-profile Aussies who’ve been spotted at Swift’s shows in Melbourne in Sydney, among them Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Jackie O, Guy Sebastian, Kate Ritchie and even PM Anthony Albanese.
