There may be one hellish logistics challenge Taylor Swift’s team has to sort out after she makes her mad dash from Tokyo to Las Vegas to watch Travis Kelce play in the Super Bowl on Monday.
And that’s where to park her private jet.
While Swift has plenty of time to make it to Vegas after she steps off stage in Tokyo on Saturday night, American broadcaster CBS Sports reports she faces the first world problem of finding a spare spot to stash her plane.
There are four airports in the immediate Las Vegas area with a combined 475 parking spaces and all are already booked.
Some places reserved for players and sponsors of the LIV Golf tournament being held over the weekend at the Las Vegas Country Club may become free as play finishes the day before the big football game.
The NFL, who have reaped an unprecedented boost in television ratings, social media reach, merchandise sales and advertising dollars as a result of Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce, would be helping the pop superstar’s team navigate the parking hassle.
Michael Giordano, a partner at Cirrus Aviation Service, a company that has a few spaces in Las Vegas, told the New York Post that Swift will definitely have a place to land.
“Taylor Swift will definitely have a spot through the NFL to land, but not necessarily a place to park,” Giordano said.
Her pilot may have to do a “drop and go” flight where they land at a Vegas airport but then leave to be on a standby at a nearby facility.
The fresh woes comes after Kelce said he had a sneak preview of Taylor Swift’s new record and declares it will “shake up the world when it finally drops.”
The champion footballer revealed his private listening party to “some” of Swift’s new record The Tortured Pots Department at a pre Super Bowl press conference in Las Vegas.
“I have heard some of it, yes, and it’s unbelievable. I can’t wait for it to shake up the world when it drops,” he said.
But he wasn’t about to leak any details about Swift’s 11th studio album. The Grammy winner has already shared the artwork and tracklisting which features guests Florence and the Machine and Post Malone.
“I can’t give you anything,” he said. “I’ll leave that up to her,” he said.
Kelce also spoke with pride about Swift claiming Album of the Year for her Midnights record at the Grammys, the first artist to win the coveted prize four times.
And he said he has promised her to “bring some hardware too” at next week’s match between his Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
“She’s unbelievable, she’s rewriting the history books herself,” he said at the press event.
“I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and bring some hardware too.”
Swifties were sent into a frenzy when Taylor Swift used her Grammy’s acceptance speech after winning best pop vocal album to announce the release of a new album.
The megastar made the big reveal while accepting her 13th Grammy for best pop vocal album for her last album Midnights. The award was presented to her by U2 frontman Bono.
“I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years,” the singer said, announcing that the new album, The Tortured Poets Department, will be available on April 19.
The Shake It Off singer was quick to post the black and white album cover on social media, which shows Swift lying down on pillows in just shorts and a singlet, half of her face out of view, with her arms wrapped around her body.
Swift has also given fans a glimpse into the new album’s contents, with (presumably) lyrics scrawled onto a folder.
“And so I enter into evidence, My Tarnished Coat of arms, My muses, acquired like bruises, My talismans and charms,” it reads.
“The tick, tick, tick of love bombs, My veins of pitch black ink, All’s fair in love and poetry … Sincerely, The Chairman of The Tortured Poets Department.”
From the short glance the singer has provided, it looks as though fans can expect an album filled with even more complex, poetic lyrics reminiscent of her Folklore and Evermore albums.
Her media page, Taylor Nation, even posted “We’re actually scared for an era where she’s declaring herself a poet” in a retweet.
So far one song title, The Manuscript, has been revealed on Swift’s website, where fans can already pre-order and pre-save the upcoming album in the form of a vinyl, cassette, CD and digital album ahead of the April 19 release date.
The collector’s edition deluxe CD includes a photo of Swift looking directly at the camera, as well as a patch alongside a sticker or coaster with the song title The Manuscript written along the top. A quill can also be seen peaking through on the patch.
Fans are already speculating that the album is a swipe at her ex, Joe Alwyn, after he told British GQ in 2022 that he was in a WhatsApp group chat titled The Tortured Man Club with fellow actors Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott.
The album announcement comes as Swifties speculated that the Wildest Dreams singer would drop the re-release of her sixth studio album, Reputation, at the award ceremony.
For weeks eagle-eyed fans have noticed that friends of Swift have been changing their social media profile pictures to black and white, which Swifties took as a signal that Reputation Taylor’s Version was near.
Swift has also been spotted sporting her Reputation waves at events and wearing lots of green, sending fans into a frenzy.
The biggest nod to the re-release came this morning, however, when Swift changed her own profile picture to black and white.
Her website also featured a clue, though in retrospect, Reputation was never coming today: when fans tried to visit her website this morning, the screen went black and read: “Error 321 Backend fetch failed”.
Further down on the error page were the letters “hneriergrd”, which fans pointed out could be an anagram for “red herring” — something that misleads or distracts.
Swift is known for being “cryptic” with clues for albums, and The Tortured Poets Department is no exception.
Following the Grammy’s, the popstar will kick off the very first Eras Tour shows of the year in Japan on February 7 to 10, before bringing the sellout tour to Australia.
However, she’ll likely head to the Super Bowl in between her Japan and Australia tour dates to support her boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce.
Meanwhile, the pop star has gained over 370,000 Instagram followers in 24 hours after making history with her best album of the year win at the Grammy Awards, bringing her follower count to 280M. Yes, that M stands for Million.
According to KingCasinoBonus.uk, the singer has gained over half a million followers in the last 30 days.
She also boasts 95M followers on X (formerly Twitter) and 24M on TikTok.
