Miley Cyrus has revealed that she lost her virginity to Liam Hemsworth at the age of 16.

Cyrus, 27, made the revelation in a revealing interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, released hours after her split from ex-boyfriend Cody Simpson was announced.

Though she did not name him, Cyrus revealed during the racy podcast that she had lost her virginity aged 16.

“I didn’t go all the way with a dude until I was 16, but I ended up marrying the guy,” Cyrus said.

Given Cyrus has only been married once – and it was to Hemsworth – it is not hard to tell who she was talking about.

Cyrus yesterday confirmed she has split from Australian singer Simpson, saying the former couple are “working on” themselves apart.

Now, Simspon has broken his silence in a public display of support for his ex Cyrus, promoting her new song on his Instagram Story. “So proud of you. Congratulations to the most special of them all,” Simpson wrote, about Cyrus’ new song.

‘CAN’T MAKE A WHOLE’

The Wrecking Ball singer, 27, took to Instagram after the news became public, telling fans she and Simpson had ended their romance.

Adding that “two halves can’t make a whole”, Cyrus said the pair were “working on” themselves and would remain friends.

Cyrus and Simpson, 23, dated for 10 months in the wake of her very public divorce from ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.

“A year ago, almost to this exact date, the media tried to tell my story for me, and control my narrative, and I’m just not accepting that,” Cyrus said, in an Instagram Live.

“So today, it came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up.”

“It was confirmed by a “reliable source” even though no one is reliable in a relationship except the individuals who are participating in it, but right now, two halves can’t make a whole and we’re individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we wanna be, like everybody else at this age.”

She added: “We are just deciding who we wanna be in our lives, what we wanna do, and so, don’t make it some drama story if next week we’re hanging out, getting pizza.

“We’ve been friends for 10 years and we’re going to continue to be friends, so just don’t make it something that it is not,” Cyrus said.

‘SELF-REALISATION PERIOD’

It came as she opened up about her “transformative”, “self-realisation period” in the wake of her split from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

In a revealing interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Cyrus opened up about how she dealt with her marriage to Hemsworth ending.

“I had a very, very public, very big break-up … with heartbreak, I tried to not get lost in that emotion. It’s like a death when you lose a love that deep,” Cyrus told host Alexandra Cooper.

“I love who I am so much right now, if any of those things wouldn’t have happened, I’m not sure that I would be the same person.”

Speaking on Call Her Daddy, Cyrus explained that she had learnt to do what was right for herself.

“Only in the last year, I am always doing what I want for me,” she told Cooper, during the interview at Cyrus’ Los Angeles home.

“What I do is for me and that doesn’t mean that you’re selfish,” she said.

TMZ reported that Cyrus and Simpson “split within the last few weeks” and it is “unclear right now what led to the break-up”.

Earlier this month, Simpson, 23, shared a tribute to Cyrus on Instagram writing, “In love with my best friend”, and the exes got matching tattoos in March.

“I always had an affinity for her,” Simpson told The Project in October.

“I’ve always had a crush on her, I told her that … it worked,” he joked.
