Pop superstar Lizzo is coming for the haters with her cheeky comeback single Rumours.

The Queen of positive pop teams with rap hitmaker Cardi B for the playful yet powerful call-out of the vile cyber bullying and lies she has endured since releasing her Grammy-winning breakthrough record Cuz I Love You in 2019.

Lizzo toured Australia in early 2020 before the pandemic hit, propelling her singles Truth Hurts and Good As Hell to triple platinum status.

Rumours, her first new song in two years, is sweet sonic revenge against those who have attacked the rapping, twerking, classical flute-playing pop sensation and body positivity advocate.

“There’s a bias about people who look like me. God forbid, I think highly of myself or I become famous and successful and sexy and I love myself publicly. And God forbid that I’m on magazine covers and I’m shaking ass on social media. How dare I?” Lizzo said.

“But at the end of the day, I know that defying all of those odds and living above those opinions of me is my purpose and I do it really well.”

Lizzo has been having all of the fun teasing fans ahead of the single release, addressing the wishful speculation of a collaboration with Harry Styles, and starting her own juicy rumour she was pregnant with the baby of Captain America actor Chris Evans.

She lit up social media when she dropped the truth about rap queen Cardi B guest-starring on Rumours. The rapper will be heavily pregnant with her second baby in the music video for their joint single.

“I have always wanted to work with her and this was the perfect song, the perfect moment and she’s the perfect person to share this message of f … the haters,” Lizzo said.

“I wish the world could have seen my reaction to knowing that she was going to be really pregnant in my music video; she is choosing to share it with the world, for me, and I was blown away by that gesture.

“It’s pretty iconic, me and her baby are going to be in a music video forever.”

Lizzo continues to work on her next album with producer Mark Ronson, confirming they have “made so many incredible songs together.”

While she wasn’t giving any other album secrets away, her comeback single drops ahead of a feast of blockbuster pop slated for the second half of 2021.

After the huge success of his comeback single Bad Habits, Ed Sheeran is now teasing cover art for his much-anticipated new record which could be called Minus or Subtract, following his pattern of albums named by arithmetic operations.

Coldplay has confirmed their ninth studio album Music Of The Spheres will be out on October 15 and Taylor Swift issues her re-recorded version of Red on November 19.

Music fans are keeping everything crossed for new music from Adele and Rihanna and possibly Beyonce who has confirmed she’s back in the studio.
