Katy Perry reportedly makes low-key arrival in Australia ahead of secret performance

Australia’s pretty flush with megastars right now – but another huge A-lister has snuck into the country ahead of an exclusive gig.

Between Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, Pink, Blink 182 and Kourtney Kardashian, Australia is flush with American celebrities right now – but another megastar has reportedly made a secret arrival on our shores.

2GB radio host Ben Fordham revealed on air on Friday morning that Katy Perry has quietly landed ahead of an ultra-exclusive function this weekend.

“Katy Perry has secretly flown into Australia … She’ll be performing at [billionaire Richard Pratt’s mansion], Raheen, on Saturday night.”

The guest list for the lavish event includes Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, the presenter added during Ben Fordham Live.

Reacting to the showbiz scoop on-air, entertainment reporter Peter Ford went into detail about the family’s extravagant parties.

“They do throw very lavish parties, the Pratts,” Ford told Fordham, before hinting at Perry’s pay cheque.

“And to get Katy Perry as your party singer – you’re not going to get any change from two million dollars, and I don’t reckon you’ll get much from three million dollars, to be honest.”

Perry’s reported – and unexpected – trip Down Under coincides with her friend-turned-enemy-turned-friend Taylor Swift’s sold-out Eras Tour, which resumes tonight in Sydney after a four-day break.

The once-close pair had a public falling out several years ago, allegedly serving as the inspiration behind Swift’s hit diss track, Bad Blood.

However, they buried the hatchet in 2019, with Perry extending a literal olive branch to the singer on the day her Reputation tour kicked off in Phoenix.

“I just got back to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch. This … means so much to me,” Swift said in a video posted to social media at the time.

The Shake It Off singer famously likes to include surprise guests at her show – the Eras Tour has already featured Mumford and Sons’ Marcus Mumford, Phoebe Bridgers, Jack Antonoff and Ice Spice – so perhaps a surprise Perry appearance in Sydney isn’t totally out of the question.

Swift will perform four shows at Accor Stadium, beginning tonight and wrapping up on Monday.

Her NFL star boyfriend, Travis Kelce, arrived in Sydney on Thursday to support his famous girlfriend, with the loved-up couple later spotted at Sydney Zoo, in the western Sydney suburb of Bungarribee, near Mt Druitt.

Swift had also visited the wildlife park the day prior.
