Katy Perry gets pitchy, ruins Dolly Parton Grammy Awards tribute
Everyone loves Dolly Parton but that doesn’t mean everyone can sing her songs, as Katy Perry found out the hard way during the Grammys tribute to the music legend.

The Grammys tribute to Dolly Parton got off to a pitchy start when pop star Katy Perry linked up with breakthrough country chart-topper Kacey Musgraves to sing Here You Come Again.
Whether it was the sense of occasion or tackling the genre, Perry struggled with her live vocal, managing to hit some pretty dud notes.
Fans also suggested Perry may have tripped up attempting to outdo Musgraves before Parton joined the pair on stage.
Many fans said she butchered the moment on social media and it isn’t the first time when the Hot and Cold singer hasn’t had the smoothest of live performances on an awards stage.

MORE: Why the Grammys have lost the plot
Perry didn’t deliver the strongest live vocal when she premiered her single Chained To The Rhythm at the 2017 Grammys.
Thankfully the car crash of the opening song of the tribute medley was quickly forgotten when Miley Cyrus joined her godmother on stage to absolutely nail Jolene.
Cyrus, who had already graced the Grammys stage to sing In My Blood with pop heartthrob Shawn Mendes, confirmed she can sing the proverbial out of any song you give her.
Maren Morris then joined the pair for one of the acapella harmony moments designed to show off golden tonsils before Parton linked with award-winning country group Little Big Town.
Of course everyone joined the country legend to finish off with 9 to 5, one of her biggest country pop hits.
The performances at the Grammys have been a mixed affair with the opening Cuban-themed production number starring Camila Cabello and Ricky Martin failing to bring the energy of the genre to the stage with a mid tempo arrangement.
And while Post Malone held his own wandering through smoke-filled corridors, linking up with the Red Hot Chili Peppers to sing their song Dark Necessities was another scratch-your-head moment.
Frontman Anthony Kiedis struggled to keep his vocals in the note ballpark even as Postie proved to be a deft harmoniser on the Chili Peppers track.
And it appears the performing artists should be getting some danger money, with on-stage camera crews getting in their way. Kiedis almost face-planted after tripping while trying to get his bounce on.
