Cold Chisel reunite for 50th anniversary tour

Cold Chisel fans have lapped up the opportunity to celebrate the legendary Aussie rock band’s 50th anniversary, with 20 shows on The Big Five-0 tour selling out.

Tickets to the second release of tour dates went on sale earlier this week and only limited seats remain for just a few shows.

An extra six dates were added after the first 16 shows sold out within hours.

The sold out Canberra show has been moved to a bigger venue, Stage 88, with a further 2000 tickets going on sale at 2pm AEST today, June 19.

There are limited tickets still available to Adelaide’s November 17, Melbourne’s November 22 and Sydney’s December 4 shows.

MORE COLD CHISEL SHOWS ADDED AFTER INITIAL RELEASE SOLD OUT

Cold Chisel’s The Big Five-0 tour just got bigger with the legendary rockers rewarding loyal fans with an extra six shows to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary.

The band and their team scrambled last week to add the new metro and regional concerts as disappointed fans begged for more shows after tickets to the first 16 shows sold out in hours last week.

“We were completely blown away by the response last week,” frontman Jimmy Barnes said. “The demand for tickets was bigger than anything we’ve ever seen before.”

The band have added gigs at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 30, the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on November 22 and 23, the Patrick White Lawns, Canberra on November 28, Roche Estate, Hunter Valley on November 30 and will now finish at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on December 4.

“Unfortunately we can’t do gigs everywhere so we’ve tried to get to the places where the outcry was loudest,” guitarist and singer Ian Moss said.

“That’s why we’ve added new shows in Canberra and the Hunter Valley, as well as additional gigs in Brisbane and Sydney plus two more in Melbourne,”

“The reaction of our fans has really fired us up – we can’t wait to play for everyone.”

It’s not too late to sign up to the Chisel mailing list to join the pre-sales for the extra dates via Cold Chisel’s website.

Members of the Cold Chisel, Face-to-Face Touring and ticketing company mailing lists will be given exclusive access to the pre-sale on June 17 from 12pm AEST.

General public tickets to the new concerts go on sale on June 18 from 1pm AEST with links to the official ticket agency for each gig via Cold Chisel’s website.
