JUST hours after its launch, Cory Bernardi’s alternative to Triple J’s Hottest 100 has been slammed by one of the artists on his playlist.
Savage Garden frontman has blasted Sentaor Bernardi and his Australian Conservatives party for including his song To The Moon and Back on their Spotify playlist.
In a scathing tweet, Hayes ripped into Sentaor Bernardi — who campaigned against same-sex marriage — and demanded that his music be removed from the playlist.
“I don’t support your party, values or views,” Hayes wrote. “Remove my music from your promotions. You do not have permission to use my music.”
Senator Bernardi’s response was blunt and seemingly missed the point of Hayes’ argument.
He tweeted: “Get over yourself @darrenhayes. Music is for everyone.”

Hi @CoryBernadi and @AuConservatives. I do not want to be associated with you, your party or your views. Remove my music from this stunt or expect contact from my publisher @SonyATV https://t.co/fBmVisypLz

The #AC100 countdown was issued as a direct response to Triple J’s decision to
change the date of their Hottest 100 countdown, which has traditionally been ion January 26.
The top 10 included Men at Work’s Down Under, Khe Sanh, You’re The Voice and Peter Allen’s I Still Call Australia Home.
“As taxpayer-funded Triple J and their ‘Hottest 100’ abandon our national day for political correctness, we’re inviting you to cast your vote by telling us your favorite [sic] 3 tracks from our #AC100 playlist,” the website says.
