Harry Styles’ Australian fans have been left devastated after the British singer cancelled his 2022 tour.

The former One Direction star’s ‘Love On Tour’ had been a long time coming for his local supporters, who first bought tickets back in March 2020 ahead of a scheduled November tour date.

It was postponed at the time due to the Covid-19 pandemic impacting international travel, with ticketholders urged to hold onto their tickets for future dates.

Announcing the 2022 dates on his social media overnight, Styles left Australia off the list, which included shows in the UK, Europe and South America.

At the time he tweeted out the new dates there was no explanation as to why Australia wasn’t included, as local fans hit out at the 27-year-old singer on social media.

Styles has released a statement via Live Nation to his Aussie fans, saying it was “just not possible” to head Down Under right now.

“To everyone in Australia and New Zealand, I can’t believe it’s been four years,” Styles, 27, said in a statement.

“I can’t wait to see you again, but unfortunately it is just not possible at this time.

“I will be sharing news soon about new shows, I love you all so much – I miss you, and I can’t wait to see you.”

Entertainment promoter Live Nation Australia also released a statement saying they were working on a new tour, while assuring fans they’d get a full refund.

“Due to the continuing challenges for international touring, The Harry Styles ‘Love On Tour’ is unable to be rescheduled for Australia & New Zealand in 2022,” Live Nation Australia said in a statement.

It’s interesting to note there are several big international acts who plan to tour Australia this year, including Billie Eilish, Guns N’ Roses, Snoop Dogg, Tyler, The Creator and Alanis Morissette.
