Adele TV specials spark new war between Seven and Nine

Australian fans wanting to see her new TV concert specials have been left rolling in the deep with a new war brewing between Seven and Nine.

Adele confirms comeback single Easy On Me out ahead of new album 30

It’s Adele everywhere in the countdown to the release of 30, the comeback record from the world’s biggest pop star.

But the wait to see her new TV specials isn’t going to be easy on her Australian fans.

While Seven have been flogging promos for the Oprah special Adele: One Night Only, which airs on CBS in the US this weekend, it is believed it won’t be on Australian screens for up to a week later.

And it will likely be after the album is released on November 19.

Meanwhile, the rival ITV special, An Audience With Adele, which was filmed in London last weekend and will air in the UK on November 21, has yet to find a broadcast home in Australia.

Nine is being cheeky and has dusted off the Live In London performance and chat with Graham Norton which was recorded in 2015 to promote the release of her 25 album.

Of course they failed to mention it was six years old when spruiking its broadcast on November 17, two days before the album drops.

The One Night Only two-hour special looks spectacular, with the 33-year-old pop phenomenon rocking a dramatic black gown as she performs in front of the iconic Griffith Observatory, its white walls serving as a massive wraparound video screen to project stunning visuals as she belts out Rolling In The Deep.

“How posh is this?” she asks the star-studded crowd including pop star Lizzo wearing a typically eye-catching outfit.

“Look at you, Lizzo; trying to outshine me, babes?”

As well performing new songs including the album’s first hit single Easy On Me, Adele also sits down with Oprah Winfrey for a “truth” session.

“Being in LA as well, where I sort of had to recover from everything that happened in my life over the last few years, sort of felt like the perfect show,” she said.

Adele has told fans many of the new songs on 30 were influenced by her divorce from Simon Konecki and their eight-year-old son Angelo.

The beloved power-lunged voice of her generation was brought to tears during her An Audience With Adele special in London on the weekend.

Performing in front of an audience which included Dua Lipa, Idris Elba, Emma Watson, Stella McCartney and her sports agent boyfriend Rich Paul, she admitted she was feeling the pressure of performing live again.

“I’m shitting it! I’m so nervous!” she told the audience.

She later burst into tears when she was reunited with a mystery figure from her childhood, asking her good mate and comedian Alan Carr to entertain the crowd while she fixed up her make-up.

Both of the new TV specials feature her performing a clutch of tracks from 30; according to a leaked setlist from the London Palladium special, the new songs included Easy On Me, Love Is A Game, Hold On, Woman Like Me and I Drink Wine.
