Pregnant Margot Robbie debuts baby bump in first red carpet appearance since announcing pregnancy

Queensland-born Margot Robbie has stolen the show at her first red carpet appearance since announcing she is pregnant.

Margot Robbie debuted her baby bump on the red carpet for the first time since announcing she and husband Tom Ackerley were expecting their first child.

The stunning Queensland-born star was glowing as she proudly put her baby bump on display in a grey bodycon dress at the premiere of My Old Ass in Los Angeles on the weekend.

Robbie, 34, who co-produced the new comedy drama, was accompanied by Ackerley and the movie’s star Maisy Stella and director Megan Park.

She also posed for photos with Ackerley and co-producers Bronte Payne and Josey McNamara.

Robbie owns the powerhouse production company Lucky Chap Entertainment with her husband, which produced the movie as well as the mammoth blockbuster Barbie movie.

The red carpet affair marked Robbie’s first public appearance since she and Ackerley put on a display of public affection at Wimbledon in July — just days after reports emerged that she is pregnant.

The expectant parents first met in 2013 on the set of the period drama Suite Française, which Robbie starred in and British-born Ackerley worked on as an assistant director.

In the weeks before Robbie’s pregnancy was revealed in July, Ackerley gave insight into the couple’s marriage in a joint interview, saying they spent “24 hours a day” together.

“It’s seamless,” he told The Sunday Times.

“We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing.”

Robbie and Ackerley are also overseeing Molly Smith Metzler’s Netflix limited series Sirens, which is based on her play Elemeno Pea.

Robbie is also set to portray Sarah in the upcoming drama A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which co-stars Irish actor Colin Farrell.

The Oscar-nominated actress has previously been candid about her and Ackerley’s family planning journey.

“It [makes] me really angry. How dare some old guy dictate what I can and can’t do when it comes to motherhood or my own body?” she told the UK’s Radio Times in January 2019. “Unfortunately, it’s a conversation we’re still having.”

“I got married and the first question in almost every interview is, ‘Babies? When are you having one?’ I’m so angry that there’s this social contract. You’re married, now have a baby. Don’t presume. I’ll do what I’m going to do.”
